Wow what an awesome night! We had a great meeting this past Monday night. Our 10 Girl Scout Daisies in Troop 13601 put together 17 boxes of gifts for Operation Christmas Child. We are so proud to see them give to a child they most likely will never even see. What a gift to learn to give. We are very fortunate to have received a large donation of small items to fill the boxes from Scholastic Book Fairs and to have the pleasure of working with Grace Fellowship Church. Tracy and I are so proud of our girls!

On Saturday, October 10, the Campus Girl Scouts from the University of Wisconsin- River Falls, held a workshop to help girls earn their Horse Lover Badge. A morning session for Girl Scout Brownies (and a few Girl Scout Daisies, too) focused on horse care, breed identification, and even a new twist on the song “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.”
The afternoon session also focused on skill for the older girls, Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes. They also learned care of the horse, parts of the saddle, and more. At one of the stations the girls learned how to saddle a horse. Not having enough horses for all, they practiced with pony saddles, using each other as the ponies.
All the girls spent some time riding on “Shrek” the horse.
The Campus Girl Scouts planned and carried out all the activities, with the help of the Block and Bridle club.

On a beautiful day Spring Grove Girl Scout Daisies planted Astilbe perennials outside the Spring Grove Public Library entrance. This service project taught them that they are not too young to make a difference in the community. The girls are anxious to see these plants grow at this special place they can visit often. Troop members are Payton, Jacine, Addison, Amelia, Paige, Olivia, Elena, and Anna.
